The aim of the module is to examine the estimation of value as related to investments, real estate valuation and rights, at present more relevant for wineries. Methods of assessment are applied to several wineries typologies and geographical situations through the analysis of case studies.
Elements of financial mathematics applied to the appraisal in the wine industry. Elements of investment analysis: the discount rate and the risk of investments. Investments analysis: payback period and ROI. NPV and IRR. The evaluation of land investments in viticulture: the types of investments. The evaluation of land investments in viticulture: methods. The estimation of the value of vineyards: methods. Application of methods to specific case studies. Evaluation of a PDO vineyard. Investment analysis applied to a bottling line. Comparative analysis of case studies.
