Value chain and sustainability in wine and agro-food systems

The research group works on the topics related to the research field of “Agricultural and Resource Economics”. Research activities focus on agri-food and wine business management, food and wine marketing, demand analysis, consumer behaviour, food and wine public policy, management of natural resources, sustainability, and climate change impacts. The research group is interested in exploring agro-food and wine businesses, wine and food supply chains, territorial food and wine systems, and the markets of wine and food products. It is also interested in the analysis of case studies. The group applies quantitative and qualitative analysis tools to study consumer behaviours and business strategies. The most recent research topics are: sustainable consumption behaviours; food and wine tourism; digital marketing; agricultural use of water resources; rural landscape and multifunctionality of agricultural practices; European food and wine policy; designations of origin and geographical indications; wine quality standards and certification systems; food choices and nutritional information; diet balance and obesity prevention; alcoholic beverage consumption in young generations; food habit formation; econometric modelling of food choices. The group aims to constantly improve the quality of research publishing the outputs on international scientific journals indexed by Scopus and Clarivate Analytics, and attending relevant international academic conferences and seminars, in order to increase international visibility, recognizability and scientific production impact.
