Curriculum

Lorenzo Faccincani is Associate Professor of Corporate finance since 2017. He obtained the PhD in “Economics and Management” at the University of Verona in 2007.
 
His main research interests are:
  • corporate and intangibles valuation
  • firm crisis and restructuring
  • firms’ capital structure
  • capital management in banks
  • banks’ performance
On the research topics listed above he published monographs, book chapters and journal articles.
 
Under the profile of the Third Mission, in 2018 he held lessons to the course “Preparation for the profession of chartered accountant and to the activity of legal auditor”.

Research groups

Evaluation of banks and other financial intermediaries
The research group, made up of university professors and professionals in the field, wants to link the evaluation profiles to the discipline of prudential supervision, in a broad sense, to the peculiarities of the economic and financial planning of intermediaries, to risk management and to internal control systems, as well as to identify methodologically appropriate and concretely applicable approaches.

Firm crisis and restructuring Examination of the underlying causes of firms’ crises and restructuring processes, with particular consideration of asset and liability measures restructuring to be feasible in order to restore a business in a situation of economic and/or financial distress. Firms’ capital structure Analysis of the advantages and disadvantages of recourse to debt or equity by non-financial firms. Examination of the italian and international tax laws affecting the firms’ decisions of capital structure, with a deepening of the various measures aimed at limiting the deductibility of interest liabilities and to recognising a tax credit to increments of equity.
