Daniela Pianezzi

Dopo i miei studi in filosofia all'Università di Siena (2010), ho completato un master in Business Administration presso la Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna di Pisa (2012), dove qualche anno dopo ho discusso anche una tesi di dottorato dal titolo Contemporary ethical issues in accounting and accountability (2016). La mia tesi ha esplorato le implicazioni dell'etica neoliberista su fenomeni sociali diversi come l’immigrazione e la corruzione. L’importanza della teoria critica per la mia ricerca è ulteriormente cresciuta dopo essere entrata a far parte della comunità di ricerca dell’Università dell'Essex, dove ho lavorato come Lecturer e Senior Lecturer da aprile 2017 a gennaio 2022. Durante questi anni, ho ulteriormente affinato il mio interesse di ricerca per l'etica organizzativa esplorando il modo in cui valori e le norme modellano i processi di identità e identificazione all'interno delle organizzazioni, e i loro effetti. La mia ricerca quindi si focalizza su identità ed etica organizzativa, teorie di genere, controllo manageriale e precarietà come condizione materiale ed esistenziale. Da gennaio 2022, sto sviluppando il mio programma di ricerca presso l'Università degli Studi di Verona dove insegno organizzazione aziendale. Attualmente sono impegnata in due progetti di ricerca, il primo che esplora la vita lavorativa delle persone transgender in Pakistan and in Italia e il secondo indaga le iniziative di gender mainstreaming in Giappone.

After graduating in philosophy at the University of Siena (2010), I completed a master in Business Administration at the Sant’ Anna School of Advanced Studies in Pisa (2012), where few years later I also discussed a PhD dissertation on Contemporary ethical issues in accounting and accountability (2016). My dissertation explored the implications of a neoliberal ethics on social phenomena as diverse as migration and corruption. The significance of critical theory for my research further grew after joining the University of Essex where I have been working as Lecturer and Senior Lecturer from April 2017 to January 2022. During these years, I have further refined my research interest in organizational ethics by exploring the way in which values and norms shape identity and identification processes within organizations, and their effects. Thus, my research largely focuses on work identity, organizational ethics, gender theories, management control and precarious work. I am currently developing this research agenda at Essex Business School as visiting fellow and at the University of Verona that I joined in January 2022 and where I teach work and organization studies. My ongoing research projects explore the working lives of transgender persons in Pakistan and in Italy, and initiatives of gender mainstreaming in Japan.
