Curriculum

Francesca Simeoni is an Assistant Professor in Management since 2005. She obtained the Ph.D. at the University of Naples “Parthenope” in February 2003. Since 2017 she is a member of the of the Student Teaching Commission for the Department of Business Administration.
 
Her main research interests are:
  • fair trade and valorisation and sustainability of the territories
  • destination management  and En plein air tourism
  • entrepreneurship, SMEs development and decisional processes
She is Scientific Responsible for the research "Graphic category in Confartigianato - Verona: profile and needs of services", EBAV financing. She is member of the research group for the project "Measuring the economic impact of cultural events: Tocatì - International Festival of Street Games", financing for JOINT PROJECTS 2017. She is member of the research group "Sustainability of SMEs in Italy", University of Verona and University of Salerno, scientific director prof. Alex Douglas, Management University of Africa.
Her publications are mainly on International conference proceedings, monographs and international journals.

For the third mission, since 2017 she is Scientific responsible of the "Altromercato Campus" event, a day with a review of meetings on the theme of fair trade, which sees as the organizing body CTM Altromercato soc. coop. in Partnership with the University of Verona. In addition, she is proponent and teacher of the workshop "From the idea, passing through the project, to the enterprise", Kids University.

Research groups

SMEs’ competitiveness
The research group intends to investigate the competitive capacity of Italian SMEs, a type of firm that characterize the entrepreneurial structure of the country. SMEs are overall 99% of all enterprises in Italy, contributing to the generation of about 70% of the national value added and absorbing more than 80% of employees in country.
Confartigianato: profile and service needs of the members
The research group intends to investigate the characteristics and problems of the management of the trade associations and the need to employ managerial tools to improve the quality of the services provided by the associations to their members.
DMO - Strategic planning of tourism destinations
The Research Group “DMO – Strategic planning of tourism destinations” aims to contribute to the strategic planning and management of tourism destinations, with a particular focus on the city of Verona.
Enterprise 4.0 and digital transformation for micro, small and medium businesses in Verona
The research group acts in synergy with Punto Impresa Digitale of the Chamber of Commerce to provide answers to the digital development needs of 100 Verona’s firms and is linked to the analogous research group at the Department of Computer Science.
Alternative ways of financing and the citizens’ engagement: an analysis of the business models
The objective of the research group is to analyse the alternative ways of financing and mechanisms for the community’s engagement and to investigate the possible development of the business model of the organizations involved.
Service quality, brand equity and brand reputation of water utilities
This research group aims to measure service quality, brand equity and reputation of water utilities according to the perceptions of different stakeholders (e.g. citizens, firms, public administrations).
Tocatì - economic impact of cultural events
The Research Group “Tocatì – economic impact of cultural events” aims to assess the direct economic impact of Tocatì – International Festival of Games in the Streets on the city of Verona.

Particular emphasis is placed on the study of the motivations behind the choice of destination by tourists and their subsequent level of satisfaction.
