In a global competitive scenario failures to manage operations risks and supply chain risks can have a significant negative impact on organizations. In that sense there are still some potential gaps not yet explored at the operations and risk management interface. For that reason in our contribution we explore how returns flow might be included in a Supply Chain Risk Management framework (as proposed by Manuj and Mentzer, 2008) in order to improve the capability to assess (identify-measure-analyze) operational and supply chain risks.
